I’m all for spending time in the great outdoors, especially when Sonoma County wine country is involved. Sipping in the sunshine is a given on most getaway to-do lists, but now you can add sleeping under the stars to the lineup. AutoCamp Russian River has brought glamping to Guerneville.

Cozy, Comfortable Camping
AutoCamp Russian River has 23 luxury Airstream trailers, 1 ADA Accessible Suite, and 10 seasonal posh platform tents. With an indoor fire pit, cozy chairs, and tables perfect for a game of checkers or a round of cards, the Clubhouse serves as the campground hub.
Forget camping on the ground — your airstream awaits (Melanie Riccardi).
Shiny on the outside and cozy on the inside, the custom designed AutoCamp Airstreams redefine the idea of camping. The bedroom boasts a queen-sized bed, skylight, and television, and the walk-in shower in the bathroom is quite possibly bigger than what you’ve got at home. The well-stocked kitchen has a refrigerator, convection microwave, French-press, and coffee supply. Air conditioning and heat keep trailers comfortable regardless of the season. Each Airstream has its own patio complete with a dining room table and fire pit suitable for grilling dinner or roasting marshmallows. An added bonus, there’s no keys to lose. A numeric keypad on the door allows guests to create their own entry code.

The Luxury Tents
Along with lights and electrical outlets, the platform Luxury Tents’ queen-size beds (complete with electric blanket for chilly nights) make for happy campers. Available April through October, every tent has its own patio with chairs and a fire pit with grill top. Tents come stocked with an ice chest and small selection of barbecue tools. Restrooms and showers are located in the Clubhouse and are open 24 hours. The showers are stocked with Malin+Goetz amenities and hairdryers.
The tents are every bit as impressive as the airstreams (Melanie Riccardi).

Campground Games and Toys
Don’t spend time digging through the closet, AutoCamp has a nice selection of camping games and toys to keep you entertained when you’re not tasting wine or toasting s’mores. A Bocce set, board games, beach towels, and umbrellas are available for check-out. Complimentary tennis balls, racquets, and basketballs can also be signed-out to use at the neighboring public park.
A dozen complimentary cruiser bikes are available for use during the day. Downtown’s about a half mile away on Highway 116, but it’s a busy stretch with no dedicated bike lanes, so be careful. Helmets and locks are provided.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome for an additional fee of $50 per pet/per stay in one of the pet-friendly Airstreams. (The Luxury Tents aren’t pet friendly.) Dogs must be kept on a max six-foot leash and may not be left alone at any time.
There isn’t a restaurant on-site, but AutoCamp’s Canteen sells local wine, beer, s’mores kits, and some basic snacks. You can load up on supplies down the road at Safeway or forget the cookout concept and check out some of Guerneville’s tastier spots like Dick Blomster’s Korean Diner or boon eat+drink. Complimentary coffee, tea, and hot cocoa is available in the Clubhouse every morning.
AutoCamp is a non-smoking property. Parking and Wi-Fi are complimentary. Daily housekeeping service is available for an extra fee.
Airstream rates start at $225/night
